Carbon Fiber JDM Nose Badge (7/4/2004)
JDM style Nose Badge with Carbon Fiber custom added by Hong at Pelican Racing.

Overview:
This is normally a very simple mod. However, mine turned out to be quite a bit more complicated because of the Previous Owner. What happened was I found out that the bumper had been re-painted at some time. And the lazy ass slacker dumbass who did it, did not remove the glue from the Cowboy Hat Toyota symbol before painting!

So I had to get it spotted by a body shop and then I was able to put on the new badge. There are other online tutorials on badge removal, so I'll give a brief explanation of what I did as I followed advice from a few of them combined.

The Process:
The safest way I think to remove these badges is to use dental floss and do it while you're washing your car. Basically, wash the area and really hose it down good. Then grab some dental floss and work it back and forth in a sawing like motion between the badge and the bumper until you've worked your way all the way through the badge. There are 2 pegs that hold it in place as well. Just lift up with the dental floss and work it back and forth until you get it up and out.

Now you're left with some glue (The remains of the double sided tape used to hold on the badge. Remove that with goo gone or greased lightning or something that won't harm the paint and is for getting glue type stuff up. Next wash that area real good and make sure there's no more glue residue or dirt.

Let it dry and then put on the new badge. This is pretty self-explanatory.

Enjoy your new nose badge!

Here's a somewhat blurry pic of the badge by itself:

Here's the badge partially on my car before I got the area spotted by a body shop (Possibly my best picture of the badge). Notice the riged areas. Those are glue under the layer of paint:

And Here's a pic of the badge on my car, but the lighting isn't so good. I may take a better picture later, but who knows:
